New Taipei City is a major manufacturing town in Taiwan. The number of manufacturers ranks first in the country, and the number of small and medium-sized enterprises is as high as 221,000. Among them, the ratio of traditional industries is over 85%. Ming Chi University of Technology for achieving university social responsibility cooperate with Taipei University of Technology and Fu Jen University. We organize the inter-school and inter-disciplinary teams. Focus on the traditional industries in the New Taipei Industrial Park, such as Tucheng and Shulin Industrial Park, as the main service objects to provide application of artificial intelligence, data analysis and solutions of smart manufacturing. We provide consultation and services include the field of manufacturing, marketing, branding, and even the succession and organizational culture issues. Through the effective link between manufacturers and regional resources to improve the regional economic ecosystem. And we try to experiment with the innovative social enterprises model to achieve the university social responsibility with professionalism, Humanism and ecologicalism.
In recent years, Ming Chi University of Science and Technology has been actively cooperating with the local industry to help teachers and students deepen understanding of the traditional firms their real current situation and the needs. We provide the field problems of the industry and the opportunities to students.
They have the opportunity to practice and verify what they have learned and to care and sense the society issue. This project covers various issues in various traditional industries. We expand inter-school cooperation. In response to the influence of COVID-19, we use remote video to contact and consult the manufacturers in the area industry. Focusing on the smart manufacturing and production and enhance the value of their products by design and branding, we improve the product value and competitive advantage of traditional manufacturers. And, we enhance the industry links to improve the regional economic ecological environment and the overall competitive advantage of the regional industry in New Taipei City. We try to establish altruistic and happy enterprises to achieve the goal of sustainable regional economic development.
Take Tucheng and Xinbei Industrial Zones as examples. During the period of the project, 78 companies have been interviewed, and 19 firms have conducted by consulting the issues of technical and R&D, hold 10 forums, 479 participants, 125 students’ enterprise internships, 193 students participating, 7 topics of student’s project, 16 students participating. And, the project conducts 7 events of internship activities including 173 students participating. There are 10 cases of cross-school cooperation and 175 students participated in, and open 5 innovative education courses and a total of 422 participants. To meet the needs of the project, the areas of expertise of the participating teachers are wider and diversified than originally designed. We invited Professor Huang Qiwu, Deputy Dean of the School of Design of Taipei University of Technology, Professor Zhou Zongying, Director of Social Enterprise Program of Fu Jen Catholic University, and Professor Zhong Zhiming, Vice President of Xingwu University of Technology, Dean of the Department of Landscape Architecture Yan Liangyi of Fu Jen Catholic University, Professor Lin Wenyan of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Chang Gung University, Director Qiu Huifen of Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, and Professor Weng Zhengxing of Chang Gung University of Science and Technology Chiayi Branch to joined the team to handle the cross-disciplinary issues and provide the professional consultation and guidance.
We use the experience of student internships and industry experts and faculty to enhance the linkage between park manufacturers and our university. To jointly cultivate students’ talents that are needed for the regional industry. Students are asked to propose the solutions to meet the real problems of traditional manufacturers.
Currently, there are 7 projects in this projects and 5 teachers and 16 students participating in. The topics are: Material Coding Electronics Based on big data analysis methods, the forecast model of freight contracting industry revenue will be constructed, the manpower assignment problem of notebook computer hinge manufacturing, the application of deep learning detection technology to the optical manufacturing laser processing industry, and the application of AI technology to laser processing Industry discussion, application of deep learning inspection technology to mango industry-university cooperation, application of deep learning inspection technology to wafer industry-university cooperation, etc. It also provides broader and more effective solutions for 18 manufacturers including Weili Food Industry Co., Ltd., Jintai Industrial Co., Ltd., and Haozhou International Co., Ltd., there are deeply appreciated by manufacturers.
This project will continue to explore the needs of the industry, and holding the industry-academic exchange activities, in-depth interview the problems faced by the traditional industry. We will vigorously put in our professional knowledge and know how in activities of R&D, and to breakthroughs the bottleneck of the manufacturing process and operations. To integrating cross-domain experts and linkage the area resources and talents have been substantial progress in the projects. This project will continue to combines the resources from the government, and to link the resources cooperation between the manufacturers in the industrial zone of New Taipei City. We promote them to close alliances and cooperation in different industries. Students will solve the problems of manufacturers under teachers’ advices. With The mutual cooperation between the teams and firms, the projects will achieve the goals of social resource sharing and sustainable economy.
Ming Chi University of Science and Technology USR project, "The continuing project to enhance industry linkage for sustainable economic development in New Taipei industrial park ", the University will follow the (USR) promotion goals, focusing on industrial linkage and economic sustainability. Based on the foundation of the previous plan, and in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), "Industrial vision, show your aspirations!" The film will focus on traditional manufacturers to promote industrial innovation and the talents cultivation. Through industrial linkages, we build the support mechanism between weak firms to help and improve the economic ecology for achieving the competitive advantage of the overall regional industry. The projects aim to assist in establishing an altruistic and happy enterprise and reach the goal of sustainable regional economic development.
